Panos Sarafianos’ “Hill” would have been a free space
(literally a hill at Marathon) and in the same time an artists’ movement-action
that Sarafianos prepared together with an open group of new artists- students
of him, as a space for creativity and freedom. At the Hill artists and non –
artists would create together in tandem with nature to contribute to nature’s
great miracle of life through small miracles of their own. We intend to promote
the work of the great Greek abstract expressionist Panos Sarafianos and of the
pioneer ceramist Mary Hatzinikoli and in the same time create a space where
art exhibitions will coincide with discussions over art, over the conditions
of art production and perception. An environment that will provide stimuli
for inspiration and creativity, an environment where art will meet life
Whereas social system imposes solitude, alienation and antagonism,
Panos Sarafianos promoted togetherness, communication, empathy and cooperation. Panos Sarafianos is among us.
He is a dynamic relentless energy, that gives birth to new beneficial powers

A hill where art and life would meet.
The great happening of beauty and humanity. Panos Sarafianos amongst the erratic,
backward progress placed us in front of a hill. And he always urged us to climb it
